BEFORE SCHOOL CARE PROGRAM!

Introducing our BEFORE SCHOOL CARE PROGRAM!

Do you have to be at work or start your day and the 7:55am drop off time is too late? You are not alone! We heard you and we understand! We would like to introduce a new program that would allow you to drop your child/ren off a bit earlier so you can get going!

Our Before School Care program will be ran by Ms. Nancy our, amazing, TK Teacher Assistant! She will be there to ensure your child/ren have a safe place to go before school starts.

The BSC program will be first come first serve with only 20 spots available! We are offering this program at $5 per day/per child. It’s broken up by semester to make sure all the families have a chance to participate if they want.

The Fall Semester 9/20 – 12/17 (12 weeks!) is only $295! Click the link to check it out!

Some of the funds made from this program will go back to Ms. Nancy for her dedication to our children and to FoSA. The funds going to FoSA will supplement the funds we are not longer receiving from our beloved Dolphin Cafe due to COVID restrictions. All in all the funds raised go back to our children, their education and their safety!

Dolphin Derby – May 3rd – 7th

Short Avenue Elementary’s 2nd Annual Dolphin Derby Virtual Week ~ May 3rd – 7th, 2021

We are excited to announce that we will be holding our Second Annual Dolphin Derby Fundraiser but this year it will be Virtual and a weeklong event (May 3rd-7th).

Students can do the exercise of their choice (run, walk, skip rope, jump on a trampoline, skateboard, roller skate, do yoga etc.) for 20 minutes a day over the course of 5 days, for a total 100 minutes! This will be a great event where we raise awareness of the importance of having an active and healthy lifestyle, while raising money for our school.

Students will be given a letter which should be forwarded to grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, neighbors, and/or community members in order to collect pledges for their participation in the Virtual Dolphin Derby Week. This letter states the details of the Virtual Dolphin Derby Week including how to sponsor a student with a flat rate donation.

Last year we raised $17,468. This year our goal is $20,000!

The Short Avenue student population is approximately 320. If each student secured $65 of sponsorship, we would reach our $20,000 goal!!!

School Wide Goal Prizes

If we reach our school-wide goal of $10,000, Karen will have all the ingredients of a hot fudge sundae poured all over her while being filmed for all the school to see!

If we reach our school-wide goal of $20,000, Karen will be sprayed from head toe with silly string while being filmed for all the school to see!

Student Goal Prizes

Every class that reaches 100% participation (at least 1 pledged donation from every student) will receive a popsicle party!* The student who raises the most money will win a $100 gift card to the sporting goods store of their choice! *All cohorts of students will be included if the class earns a popsicle party.
